Thursday Thoughts: Let's Catch Up

Well hello there! I can't believe we are already 2 months into 2014. Time sure does fly. My grandma told me that as you get older time seems to fly by even quicker. She was right!

I am excited to be writing my first "Thursday Thoughts" post. On Thursdays, I plan to share my thoughts in a journal or dairy style post. It has been a while since we have had a chance to catch up...a lot has happened since my last video update in December.  So let's get into it!

Watch my December video update here:

We had a wonderful holiday season. We were able to spend a lot of time with friends and family, which is what the season is all about. But we certainly had an unusual Christmas day. On Christmas morning, Mark woke up and didn't feel very good. He thought he would just shake it off, so I went ahead and baked our traditional orange cinnamon rolls. While they were in the oven we started opening our stockings as usual, but Mark wasn't able to shake off his queasiness. All of a sudden, he was a sick puppy. So, we stopped opening our stockings and I put him to bed. I played nurse, and got him settled in bed so that he could rest. I stayed in bed with him and we just watched movies, rested and snuggled. We were supposed to have Christmas dinner at our house with his parents, but we postponed that until the 26th. Around 8, Mark started feeling like his old self. We got out of bed and picked up where we left off. We spent the evening slowly opening our presents and enjoying the time together. I was so happy he was feeling better! All in all, it was an unusual Christmas...but it turned out to be a wonderful and perfect day. It will be a Christmas to remember, that is for sure!

On the weight loss front...not much has happened. I fell off the wagon during the holidays and I am having a really hard time getting back into it. I know what I need to do...eat healthier, smaller portions, etc. Bottom line...I need to start going back to Weight Watchers. Next week I plan to face the music and re-join Weight Watchers. I know it is the program that works for me, so I am not going to waste anymore time! Weight Watchers here I come! I am ready to tackle my weight loss again and continue the journey. I have to remember it is a marathon, not a sprint.

We spent most of January and February snowed in! We have had a wicked winter. I love snow, but I could do without the bitter cold temps. The snow and freezing temps continued into February. I didn't really venture out when the temps were subzero. I spent a lot of time at home, and I really got into crafting. I dove into my craft supplies and started Project Life! I have really enjoyed this project and I am excited to work on it throughout the year. I am also thrilled to be able to share it with you! Don't worry, I am still going to continue vlogging and post other "housewife" videos. I have a few "housewife" videos waiting in the wings!

Well, that about does it for today's Thursday Thoughts! I hope you enjoyed this post and I look forward to sharing more content with you throughout the year. I am really excited about my new posting schedule. Don't forget to sign up to receive email updates so that you never miss a new post!

Hope all is well in your part of the world! Talk to you soon!
