Make It Monday - Project Life Share

Welcome to my first Make it Mondays post! I am excited to share my Project Life cover, title and top 10 pages with you.

I am using a Pioneer D-Ring album that I got at JoAnn's. These are my favorite scrapbook albums because they are durable and hold a lot of pages.

I am in love with the first page on my album. Shaker pages are all of the rage, and I was so excited to make one! I printed a yearly view calendar on vellum, then slipped it into an 8.5" x 11" page protector. I added various sequins, a few wood veneer pieces and some glitter, sewed the top closed...Voila! I made my very first shaker card!

The next page is a 12" x 12"layout. I used the Midnight Edition of Project Life by Becky Higgins. I punched 2" scalloped circles out of the designer paper pad and layered them. I add a few wood veneer stars by Studio Calico, and a wood veneer card from Two Peas in a Bucket. I used some black Thickers from my stash to spell out "welcome". To finish off the page, I added a few paint splatters, some washi tape and a start paperclip.

For the following page I used a Project Life design F page protector and the Amy Tangerine Cut and Past mini kit. For the most part, the embellishments I used were from the Amy Tangerine's Cut and Paste line. I added a few miscellaneous embellishments from my stash as well.

On the reverse side of the title page, I wanted to do a recap of 2013. I decided to make a top 10 in 2013 page. This was a fun page to make because I got to look back at all of the things we did in 2013 and pick the top 10. I used the Sunshine edition of Project Life to complete this spread. I used a variety of embellishments to decorate the page (for a more details about the embellishments, take a look at my YouTube Project Life Share video).

I give a more detailed walk through of each cell in my YouTube video Project Life Share. Take a look and don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more Project Life videos!

Blog Posting Schedule

In March of 2013, I launched Audrey's Wife Building and starting a blog was one of the top goals on my list for 2013. It is fair to say that my blogging goals were achieved by the end of 2013. However, now that I have a logo, my blog is built and launched it is time to focus on content. My top blogging goal this year is to post on a regular basis.

So in order to post content on a regular basis, I decided that my blog needs some kind of routine or schedule. After a lot of thought, I came up with a blog posting schedule! I decided to create a theme for the days that I post. I am aiming to post 5 days a week, taking Wednesday and Sunday off. Sounds like an ambitious schedule, right? I am ready to give it a try and see how it goes! And as with anything, I can always revise my schedule to better suit my schedule and audience, but for now I am going to give the following schedule a shot.

"Make it Mondays" will focus on crafts, DIY projects and Project Life updates. In the "Tuesday 10" posts, I will share 10 things. "Tuesday 10" posts will vary in theme, and each week will be a new list. "Thursday Thoughts" will be a journal or diary style post, which will current thoughts, weight loss updates and generally what is going on in my life. Then on Friday, the "Friday 5" will be 5 of my favorite things at the moment. Finally, Saturdays will wrap up the week with a surprise might be a printable, a haul, product review...really anything. You will just have to wait and see...after all, that is why I am calling it "Surprise Saturday" :).

I know that this is an ambitious posting schedule, but I will do my best to stick with it!
I am excited to get started and I hope you are excited too!

2014 Filofax Organization

Whenever a new year rolls around, it is like a fresh start for me. Naturally, planning and organizing the upcoming year’s calendar, schedules and to do lists is important so that I can stay on top of things and start achieving my goals.

How you plan and organize your life is a very personal thing. It needs to be tailored to suit your lifestyle, and be a system that you can keep up with. Last year I tried using an electronic calendar, which ended up being a complete disaster for me. I was missing appointments, my days lacked structure and I wasn’t getting things done. After giving the electronic calendar a fair shot, I knew that I had to go back to the old fashion pencil and paper calendar! I dusted off my trusty Filofax A5 Malden and spent a lot of time revamping my Filofax to come up with the best system for me. This system has been working extremely well and I am excited to share it with you!

Now let's get into the meat of the planner! I made my own dividers with scrapbook card stock cut to the A5 size, got them laminated at Staples and punched holes. It was inexpensive and adds a personal touch to my Filofax.
Custom Dividers

The first tab is "Personal Information" which includes detailed personal information, general facts, a password log, goals and a weight tracker sheet.

The next section is dedicated to Project Life. This section helps me keep track of my journaling and which pictures I want to use each week.

The list section is next, and I LOVE lists! I have a Master To Do List, a Home To Do List, my 100 Things to do in 2014 List from Leonie Dawson and a Books to Read List.

Now for the actual calendar and planning sections!!
I purchased most of the calendar inserts from the Filofax website, however as of now most of them are out of stock. As for the other inserts, I found free Filofax printables on Pinterest! Check out my Filofax Pinterest board to see them.

The first divider is the yearly view. I purchased the vertical yearly planner from the Filofax website.

Next tab is the month per page view.

Next up is the day per page view. I use this section the most. This year I ordered the day per page business style. I really like it because the second column is divided into sections, which I find helpful. I used Avery labels to divide each month.

I am also using my Filofax as my blog planner. I like having everything in one place. The next section is labeled Audrey's Wife Life. It includes my blogging goals, blog to do list, post ideas and a few other inserts to keep track of my blog.

Another section of my blog planner is dedicated to my blog posting calendar. I am using the week per page view from Filofax.

The final section of my blog planner is social media. This section includes anything to do with Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and Google+.

Finally, the last section of my Filofax is travel. I don't have anything in this section other than a world map because I am not planning any trips at the moment. However, as vacations approach this section will be very helpful.

There you have it! A complete overview of my Filofax and it's current set up! I hope you found this helpful. If you would like a more detailed view of my Filofax, please take a look at my YouTube video. While you are over there, subscribe to my channel for more exciting videos!

As I mentioned, organizing your calendar, schedule and lists is a very personal thing. Everyone has different needs. I like to be very detailed, while others may just need to jot down a few notes in a monthly calendar. The trick to staying on top of life is to find a system that works for you!

How are you staying organized this year?

*In order to print the inserts to fit the A5 size, I printed more than one page per page and set it to landscape. I still had to trim them down to the exact size.*
